Network Engineer
Location:95% remote, 5% on-site in Farnborough
Contract Duration: Until 31/07/2025
Clearance Requirement: SC & NPPV3 Clearance (Mandatory)
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of our network infrastructure during a major migration program. Working closely with the Network Architect and IT teams, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a seamless transition to the new network environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in designing and implementing network solutions for the migration program.
- Configure and deploy network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal operation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and address network requirements.
- Maintain and update network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
- Ensure network security and compliance with industry best practices.
- Provide technical support and guidance to IT teams and end-users during the migration.
- Conduct network testing and validation to ensure a successful deployment.
- Stay up to date with the latest networking technologies and industry trends.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer or similar role.
- Strong understanding of network architecture, design, and implementation.
- Hands-on experience with network migration projects (highly desirable).
- Expertise in routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and networking protocols.
- Knowledge of network security principles and best practices.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are a plus.
