I have an excellent opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join one of the worlds largest and most successful Defence companies in Farnborough.
You'll be part of a team of systems engineers tasked with developing underwater systems and products for the SSNA Combat Systems programme.
What you'll be doing:
- Apply your subject matter expertise and domain experience to support the Engineering Manager and Sub-System Technical Lead in delivering underwater sensing systems and products to the submarine build programme
- Work collectively in a team, developing customer requirements in combat systems
- Ensure design proving evidence is comprehensive, captured within the requirements management tools and has been endorsed by the appropriate level of authority
- Understand the contractual and performance requirements for underwater sensing systems and support the definition and associated acceptance criteria through design, build, integration, installation, and commissioning activities
- Review relevant supplier documentation and ensure it is captured and recorded appropriately
- Work with the sonar engineering team to improve own levels of domain knowledge and subject matter expertise
Your skills and experiences:
- Degree level qualification (or equivalent experience) in relevant STEM subject (Engineering/ Physics/ Maths/ Science)
- A basic level of knowledge of sonar systems in the defence, maritime or closely linked industry and the correct recognition of the context of their work within the overall product
- Knowledge of the engineering life-cycle
- Knowledge or at least recognition of relevant engineering standards, including safety and environmental regulations
The salary is £45,000 to £50,000 plus benefits and is hybrid-working of 4x days per month required on-site.
