Import clerk Farnborough based£28.000 - £32.000 Per annum

We are looking for an experienced Import Clerk to join our well-established client in the farnborough area. The successful candidate will handle import operations, ensuring smooth customs procedures and documentation for the company.This role is a fully office-based role, where you will be expected to get on and do what you are good at. Our client is a freight forwarding, warehousing & logistics business that is making freight & storage for a competitive price tag.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process import shipments and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Manage customs declarations using the Customs Declaration Service (CDS)
  • Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and transport companies to coordinate efficient movement of goods.
  • Handle shipment documentation, including bills of lading and invoices.
  • Communicate with suppliers and customers to resolve any import-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of import transactions.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in handling imports.
  • Proficient in using CDS for customs clearance.
  • Strong understanding of import procedures and regulations.
  • Experience in multimodal transport (air, sea, road) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of Sequoia an advantage.
