Our client is looking for a motivated, ambitious, and talented Solicitor or Legal Executive with a focus on company commercial law to join a thriving team at a leading local firm. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the department's growth and evolution. As a junior solicitor in the company commercial team, you will play an integral role in handling a diverse range of high-quality corporate work, with ample opportunities to develop and enhance your expertise. You will work closely with an experienced team, including the Head of Company Commercial. The company takes pride in creating a supportive and dynamic work environment that values both its clients and its people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising clients on a wide range of company commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), investment rounds, shareholder agreements, and commercial contracts.
  • Drafting and reviewing legal documents, including shareholder agreements, terms and conditions, and corporate governance documentation.
  • Assisting with due diligence in corporate transactions and providing support on the negotiation of complex agreements.
  • Working closely with senior team members to support clients with corporate restructuring, joint ventures, and corporate governance matters.
  • Developing strong, lasting relationships with clients, ensuring they receive high-quality legal advice and exceptional service.
  • Managing your own caseload and providing timely, practical advice while meeting client expectations.
  • Collaborating with other departments across the firm to deliver holistic legal solutions for clients.
  • Keeping up to date with developments in company and commercial law and proactively sharing knowledge with the team.

Experience and Skills Requirements

  • Ideally, you will be newly qualified or have up to 4 years PQE or have relevant experience in company commercial law.
  • Strong understanding of corporate law, including M&A, commercial contracts, and shareholder agreements.
  • A client-oriented approach with the ability to build strong relationships and understand clients’ commercial objectives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues and work well within a team, while also being able to take initiative and work independently when required.
  • Competence in using legal software and technology, and an eagerness to embrace new tools to improve efficiency.
  • A genuine desire to continue learning and developing within your role, with an openness to feedback and professional growth.
