Role Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Music Teacher to deliver engaging lessons and inspire our students to appreciate and excel in music. The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching music across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, and will help to foster a love for music both in and out of the classroom. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the musical future of our students and contribute to the vibrant arts culture within the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality and engaging music lessons to students across KS3, KS4, and KS5.

  • Develop and implement a creative and inclusive music curriculum that caters to a range of abilities and interests.

  • Encourage and inspire students to explore their musical talents, whether through performance, composition, or music theory.

  • Lead and support extracurricular music activities, including choirs, orchestras, and music ensembles.

  • Prepare students for music examinations, performances, and other musical events.

  • Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to aid development.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the music department’s offering and integrate music across the curriculum.

  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment where students feel confident and motivated to develop their musical skills.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Music or a related subject.

  • Strong understanding of the UK Music curriculum and experience in teaching music at secondary school level (KS3–KS5).

  • Passionate about music and the ability to inspire students at all levels.

  • Experience in leading musical ensembles, choirs, or other extracurricular music activities is desirable.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • Ability to engage and motivate students of varying musical abilities.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
