We are seeking a Risk and Compliance Manager to manage our firm’s risk and compliance function, ensuring excellence in all we do.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide a best-in-class internal risk and compliance function.
  • Perform daily tasks delegated by the COLP, COFA, DPO, Complaints/Claims officer, and MLRO, maintaining regular liaison with these postholders.
  • Manage risk and compliance with knowledge of SRA and FCA compliance models.
  • Assist staff with conduct questions (e.g., conflicts) and reporting.
  • Handle AML questions and reporting, along with complaints and claims risk management.
  • Oversee practicing certificate renewals and the review, monitoring, and updates of the firm’s policies & procedures.
  • Perform file verifications and associated follow-ups.
  • Maintain compliance records, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Run new starter compliance sessions and embed good practice.
  • Create and deliver bespoke compliance training for staff.
  • Conduct compliance audits and general compliance awareness activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of experience in legal practice, in a risk and compliance management role or a qualified Lawyer looking for a change and a non fee earning / client facing role.
  • Risk or compliance-based qualification(s).
  • Impeccable attention to detail.
  • Clear and consistent communication skills.
  • Ability to condense and simplify legal principles for others.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of risk and compliance requirements in the legal profession.
