Due to continued growth, our client is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Workshop Manager to join their well established team on a permanent basis. This is a varied role therefore never a dull moment, the successful candidate will take full control of all workshop activities whilst promoting a positive working environment.

This position is a full-time role, working Monday - Friday - 07:30am - 5pm.

Please note, a company van will be provided.

Having your own hand tools would be beneficial as you will be expected to be able to jump on the tools as necessary to support the team.

Key duties:

  • A mixture of office and shop floor responsibilities
  • Work with the Health Safety external consultant to improve standards
  • Stock control
  • Order Spares/ parts whilst keeping stock levels at a minimum
  • Arrange necessary training
  • Maintain access for Tenants
  • Ensure a clean & tidy working area / yard
  • Have plans in place to retain existing staff and recruit if necessary
  • Continuous Improvement for existing quality of in/ out plant
  • Be part of the decision-making process with new plant purchases
  • Ensure a tight testing regime is in place
  • Repair maintenance & refurbishment of plant equipment
  • Manage daily plant returns
  • Provide demo’s when required
  • Assist in workshop development
  • Deal directly with customers who need assistance with technical issues including arranging site backup

Experience within the following sectors would be an advantage:

  • 3 phase /hydraulic/ Diesel plant
  • Robotic Demolition Machines
  • Floor Preparation Machines
  • Hydraulic Power Packs
  • Hybrid- battery powered plant equipment
