The Opportunity:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Control Room Shift Engineer to join our dynamic team in Farnborough. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional with a background in control room operations who is looking to work in a fast-paced, high-tech environment. You will be responsible for overseeing critical systems, ensuring that everything operates smoothly and efficiently, and responding to any technical issues in real-time.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and maintaining the performance of control room systems and critical equipment.
  • Responding quickly and efficiently to any alarms or technical faults.
  • Performing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting system malfunctions and carrying out repairs when necessary.
  • Maintaining accurate logs and records of all shift activities and system performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational procedures.
  • Collaborating with other engineers and teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Participating in system upgrades and installations as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Shift Engineer, ideally in a control room or critical environment.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with health and safety standards in a technical environment.
  • Willingness to work on a shift pattern.
  • HAve watch-keeping experience.
