Geography Teacher

Prospero Teaching are working with an excellent mainstream school in Farnborough Hampshire. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Geography Teacher to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geography and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. This role involves teaching geography to students at various grade levels, developing engaging lesson plans, and assessing student progress.

School hours are 8.30am to 15.30pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging geography lessons that align with the curriculum standards.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and learning.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, tests, and projects.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students to support their academic growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in geography education and integrate new knowledge into teaching practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of geography concepts, including physical, human, and environmental geography.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create engaging and interactive lesson plans.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and resources.

Experience, Training And Qualifications

  • QTS or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year Geography teaching experience in the UK
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year

To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover the last 2 years
