SEN Teaching Assistant – Secondary School

Are you passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? If so, GSL Education are seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants (SEN TA) to join a dynamic secondary school in Farnborough, Hampshire.

About the role:
The role of a SEN TA is ideal for individuals with experience in SEN settings, whether within schools or through transferable skills gained from the care sector. Additionally, we welcome those who have developed valuable life skills by supporting family members with SEN.

Essential Qualities That We Are Looking For:

  • Offer one-on-one or group support to students with SEN to help them access the curriculum.
  • Assist in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Foster a positive, supportive, and engaging environment for learning.
  • Collaborate with staff and parents to ensure tailored support for each student.
  • Provide personal care where required, promoting independence and self-confidence.

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Experience working with SEN students in a school or transferable skills from the care sector.
  • Empathy and understanding, particularly if you have personal experience supporting individuals with SEN (e.g., family members).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to challenges in the classroom.

To work with GSL Education as SEN TA, you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
