Prospero Teaching is looking for a Art and Textiles teacher experienced with SEN to work with schools in Farnborough area. Dedicated SEN school committed to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs. We are seeking a passionate and creative Art and Textiles Teacher to join our team and inspire our students through engaging and adaptive art education.

Job Title: Art and Textiles Teacher

Location: Farnborough, Hampshire

Position Type: Full time, Temp-Perm contract

Salary: £31,650- £49,084

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality art and textiles lessons tailored to the individual needs and abilities of SEN students.
  • Develop and implement creative projects that encourage self-expression, creativity, and skill development.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate various learning styles and abilities.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and well-being.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and other staff members.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and therapists to create comprehensive and individualized education plans.
  • Organize and participate in school events, exhibitions, and extracurricular activities related to art and textiles.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly classroom, ensuring all materials and equipment are used responsibly.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Textiles, or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  • Experience working with SEN students, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of various art and textiles techniques and materials.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with special needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
