Here at GXO, we’re working together with B&Q and are looking for Driver Mate to join our Store to Home team in Farnborough (GU14 7ST).

You’ll be working on a full-time, permanent basis, on an ‘any 5 days out of 7’ shift pattern, contracted to 40hrs per week, with starting at 07:00. This role will require flexibility as you will be working on a 4 week rota pattern (provided in advance) including weekends.

As a Drivers Mate, you’ll receive:

  • An hourly rate of £12.21 that is an annual salary of £25,396.80

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Work as a part of a two-person team delivering products to customer premises (room of choice) on a multidrop basis – an average of 16 drops per day off-peak and 24 drops per day in peak season
  • Assist the delivery driver in parking and manoeuvring a company vehicle as well as loading and unloading of vehicles as and when required
  • Provide effective customer service while ensuring goods are delivered in excellent condition
  • Ensure that customers are kept informed of their estimated time of delivery and any issues are communicated in a polite and courteous manner

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Experience of dealing with multi-drop home delivery preferred but not essential
  • Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal
  • Willingness to complete manual handling tasks such as pulling, lifting, and pushing
  • Can do attitude with a knack for problem solving
  • Willingness to undertake pre-employment Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS Check)
  • Be prepared to commute to Farnborough (GU14 7ST) for the required shift pattern
