Management Accountant, Farnham, £45-55k + Bens + Study

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Part or fully Qualified Management Accountant and Cost Controller to join our client’s Finance team. This role is ideal for a self-motivated team player who is actively pursuing ACCA or CIMA qualifications and has experience in management accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and credit control and is not afraid of rolling up their sleeves with the day to day as well as doing the more technical accounting work.

**This is a full-time permanent office-based role (mild hybrid working will be considered in due course). The client is happy to consider someone available immediately / at short notice on a Temporary to Permanent basis as well as candidates looking on purely permanent basis.

Working closely with the Financial Controller of this successful, niche market leading business, duties include:

  • Prepare management accounts for sister companies and assist with the main company accounts, with a long-term goal of managing all three accounts packs.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
  • Oversee invoice costing, investigate variances, and report on overheads, labour, and materials.
  • Calculate weekly stock costing adjustments and create stock costing reports.
  • Cost ongoing projects, calculate profit upon completion, and manage monthly prepayments and accruals.
  • Maintain the Accounts Receivable ledger, resolve customer queries, and issue credit notes.
  • Conduct comprehensive credit checks on new and existing customers.
  • Provide backup for the accounts payable function, including verifying supplier details and invoices.
  • Assist with annual financial reporting, including preparation of working papers and audit support.
  • Ensure compliance by preparing VAT returns, completing ONS surveys, and compiling data for R&D claims.
  • Perform additional data analysis and other duties as requested by the Finance Controller.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Part Qualified ACCA or CIMA, actively studying to complete the course. Fully qualified candidates will also be considered.
  • Demonstrable experience in preparing Management Accounts as well as hands on willingness to do AR, AP and Credit Control.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and in line with the company’s positive values.
  • Strong systems knowledge and experience.
  • Costing experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment would be desirable but is not essential as long as you are keen and happy to learn.
  • Occasional travel to a sister site will be required so candidates will ideally have their own transport.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary based on experience plus a company bonus scheme.
  • Study support package after the probation period, including financial support and limited time off per subject if required.
  • 22 days holiday, increasing with service.
