Our client, a specialist in intelligent drive technology and systems in the automotive sector, is currently seeking a dedicated Application / Field Service Engineer to join their team in London. This permanent, full-time role combines home-based and customer site-based responsibilities, supporting the UK and Ireland markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Customer/OEMs to understand their specific requirements and develop solutions
- Maintain a deep understanding of the automotive market, trends, and technologies
- Engage in joint development projects with other OEMs, including problem-solving and technical advice
- Maintain quality control standards and ensure compliance with industry regulations
- Prepare technical documentation, including user manuals and specifications
- Provide technical support for sales and commissioning
- Project planning for electric drivetrains for commercial vehicles
- Conduct feasibility studies for vehicle design based on VEDS modular system
- Analyse vehicle data recordings and test prototypes
- Commission and accept new vehicles
- Ensure excellent and consistent customer service to both external and internal customers
- Support the implementation of standardised working practices
- Assist internal stakeholders in planning future projects
Job Requirements:
- Experience in electrical engineering and embedded C/C++
- Understanding of SimuLink, MATLAB
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Experience in the automotive industry
- Knowledge of commercial automotive systems and components
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming
- Capable of handling Vector CANalyzer and Vector Toolchain
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with various departments
