Job Title: Commissioning Engineer Salary: Up to 45K (depending on qualifications) Job Type: Full-Time About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Commissioning Engineer to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in lighting control systems who can manage their own commissioning projects and maintain systems post-installation. The ideal candidate will have a solid electrical qualification, hands-on experience with lighting controls (such as Prolojik, Zen, Lighting Controls Ltd, Delmatic, or similar), and an ability to work independently on complex projects. Key Responsibilities:
  • Commissioning of Lighting Systems: Manage and carry out commissioning activities for lighting control systems (mainly CAT A/B) ensuring they are installed correctly and fully operational. This includes reviewing contractor installations, configuring, and programming systems to meet the project specifications.
  • System Maintenance: Regular maintenance of installed systems to ensure ongoing functionality, including performing checks and addressing any issues. Modify settings as required, such as adjusting scenes, updating daylight linking, or adding/removing features based on client requests.
  • Use of CP Electronics RAPID System: Work with CP Electronics RAPID system and other industry-standard systems to configure, test, and ensure the smooth operation of lighting control systems across various projects.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Write detailed commissioning reports, complete commissioned drawings, and ensure all records are up to date for internal purposes. Maintain clear communication with the office on project progress and status.
  • Liaison with Clients and Contractors: Collaborate with contractors during the commissioning phase to ensure proper installation and with clients during maintenance visits to ensure systems meet their ongoing needs.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
  • Electrical qualification (such as City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent).
  • Experience working with lighting control systems (e.g., Prolojik, Zen, Lighting Controls Ltd, Delmatic, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of electrical and lighting control systems, including the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Previous experience managing commissioning projects, including overseeing the contractor’s work and commissioning lighting systems.
  • Experience with the CP Electronics RAPID system or similar is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to write detailed reports and documentation.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and independently.
