Family Legal Assistant/Paralegal

Up to £30k

Farnham (GU9), Office-Based

Your experience working in family law, as an Admin Assistant, Legal Assistant or Paralegal, is highly sought after by our client, who are law firm based in Farnham, Surrey. They are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive individual to play a pivotal role in their thriving department. If you excel in organisation, communication, and attention to detail, this is your opportunity to make a real impact in a supportive and collaborative environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work closely with the family team to ensure effective diary management and timely action on family Court hearings and directions.
  • Meet with clients to assist in preparing key documents, including Form E financial statements, obtaining and organising necessary paperwork, and coordinating amendments.
  • Handle new client enquiries promptly and professionally, setting the tone for a seamless experience.
  • Act as a vital link between clients, Counsel, the Court, and other stakeholders via email, phone, and in-person interactions.
  • Prepare hearing bundles and cost statements (e.g., Form H, Form H1, N260) in line with Court directions and ensure all Practice Direction rules are followed.
  • Manage departmental billing and initial credit control, liaising with fee earners on outstanding invoices and ensuring timely follow-ups.
  • Monitor the Court Portal daily to keep cases updated and ensure all documentation is filed accurately.
  • Arrange payments for Counsel and other disbursements while maintaining clear communication with clients regarding fees and funds.
