As a Geography Teacher at Farnham Heath End School, you will have the opportunity to inspire students through a broad and challenging curriculum, promoting a love of the subject and developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills that are vital in today’s world.

The Role:
We are seeking an outstanding Geography Teacher to deliver engaging and inspiring lessons at Key Stage 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at Key Stage 5 for the right candidate. You will play a key role in shaping the future of our Geography department, helping students to develop a comprehensive understanding of global issues, physical and human geography, and the skills they need to thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, teach, and assess high-quality lessons in Geography across Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Create a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that motivates students to succeed and fosters a love of Geography.
  • Differentiate lessons to ensure that all students, regardless of ability or background, can access and benefit from the curriculum.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and targeted support to help all students reach their full potential.
  • Work collaboratively with the Geography department and other colleagues to enhance curriculum development and share best practices.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives and contribute to the development of a positive, respectful, and inclusive school culture.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities, including field trips, geography clubs, and other learning opportunities outside the classroom.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and stay up to date with developments in Geography education.

About You:

  • A qualified Geography Teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
  • Passionate about Geography and education, with a desire to inspire students to develop a lifelong interest in the subject.
  • Experience teaching Geography at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (Key Stage 5 teaching experience is desirable but not essential).
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A proactive approach to teaching, with a commitment to delivering lessons that are both academically rigorous and enjoyable.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and a desire to enhance your teaching practice.
