We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Technical Manager to join one of our client's team, a BRCGS accredited food manufacturer known for using the finest GM-free ingredients without artificial additives. This role is crucial for providing specialised insights and essential guidance on all technical and quality matters, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and service.
Day-to-day of the role:- Provide specialist knowledge and guidance to support the food safety culture.
- Ensure all products comply with customer specifications and manage the Quality Management System (QMS) ensuring compliance with the latest BRCGS standard and HACCP plans.
- Facilitate and manage technical audits, including GMP audits, contributing to the continuous improvement of site standards.
- Manage investigations, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective and preventative actions.
- Act as an active member of the HACCP Team.
- Collaborate with the Sales and New Product Development (NPD) Teams to ensure product specifications are completed within agreed timescales.
- Work closely with colleagues to maintain high standards of food safety and quality.
- Manage annual product traceability, withdrawal, and recall testing.
- Manage the periodic calibration of measuring equipment such as probes and scales.
- Complete allergen rapid testing and ensure allergen samples and swabs are sent to the lab within agreed timeframes.
- Contribute as part of the management team.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a technical role within the food manufacturing industry.
- HACCP L3 Food safety qualification or equivalent.
- Customer-focused with a commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
- IT literate, proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- High standards of numeracy, literacy, and attention to detail.
- Flexible with a hands-on approach and excellent collaboration abilities.
