Lotty's Flowers, a busy flower shop in the centre of Faversham, is looking for a full-time Shop Manager.

Florist Hours

9 am to 5 pm, five days a week, including alternate Saturdays. The occasional late finish or early start will be required - especially at peak times. Any extra hours worked can be added to the holiday balance.

This would be a starting annual salary of £28,000 with a salary review every year & increase in line with performance.

28 days holiday.

Permanent full-time PAYE employee with pension & incentives/bonuses.

Essential

  • You absolutely must have previous experience working as a florist as you should be able to put together & guide other florists on arrangements.
  • Confident and clear communicator
  • Exceptionally organised & able to work from own initiative and under pressure at times

The Florist Shop Manager role

You should be enthusiastic, reliable, organised, a team player & of course passionate about floristry!

You will be running a fun and busy shop off Faversham Town Centre. This will involve managing other florists and ensuring operations are running smoothly. We have a concise operations guide to help with this, but we need you to use your initiative to make the best business decisions when we are not there. This is an exciting opportunity to come on board and grow with the business. You will be rewarded with various incentives and bonuses along the way!

  • Adept at floral arrangements for various occasions, i.e. funerals, weddings and everyday flowers
  • Wedding & events management
  • Training junior staff members
  • Conducting floral workshops
  • Managing shop diary & schedule
  • Managing shop staff, delivery drivers and freelancers
  • Ensuring adequate florist coverage for shop & events
  • Ensure flowers are maintained to exceptional standards, conditioning protocols are adhered to, and the flower stand is appropriately refreshed and maintained
  • Ordering flowers from wholesalers
  • Ability to delegate & instruct other staff members
  • Processing customer orders and taking payments over the phone
  • Maintain & Organise event stock
  • Reasonably good with technology and have basic maths for calculating prices, etc,
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Resourceful & good at using initiative
  • An empathetic & compassionate approach
  • Able to keep a cool head when things are busy & ensure the team remains focused on the outcome

Shop Manager - Florist, Working Hours

Five days a week, including alternate Saturdays, with opportunities to work on events & weddings. We can be flexible with hours initially.

You will need to have previous experience working as a florist and be confident managing other team members and the general public. We would consider applicants who have not held shop manager experience but are looking to take the next step and believe they have the exposure to shop operations, as well as the commitment and knowledge to do so.
