About the Role
Are you a passionate and caring SEND teacher looking for a new challenge? We are seeking experienced Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) teachers to join our team for a September start. With opportunities available for long-term placements, short-term contracts, or flexible day-to-day supply work, we cater to your professional preferences. Key Responsibilities
- Individualised Learning: Develop and implement personalised education plans to cater to the unique needs of each student.
- Classroom Management: Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and personal growth.
- Specialised Teaching: Employ various teaching strategies and interventions tailored to students with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Speech and Language Difficulties, Dyslexia, ADHD, and physical disabilities.
- Assessment and Reporting: Monitor student progress, assess their needs, and provide detailed reports to parents, caregivers, and other professionals.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teaching assistants, other educators, and external specialists to provide holistic support to students.
- Parent and Guardian Engagement: Maintain open communication with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress and strategies for supporting learning at home.
- Professional Development: Stay current with best practices and emerging trends in SEND education through continuous professional development.
Essential Criteria
- Experience: Proven experience in teaching students with special educational needs and disabilities, with a track record of success in various SEND settings.
- Qualifications: A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., QTS) and a specialisation or significant experience in SEND.
- Passion for SEND: A deep commitment to improving the learning journeys of students with special needs, showing warmth, care, and patience in all interactions.
- Adaptability and Innovation: Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse needs and to innovate in lesson planning and delivery.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong skills in communicating effectively with students, colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
- Commitment to Safeguarding: A thorough understanding of safeguarding procedures, with all candidates subject to an enhanced DBS check.
