HGV Class 2 Hiab Driver

Our well-established client based in Felixstowe is looking for an experienced Class 2 HIAB Driver, for a long term temporary contract.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Operate a grab (Training given) lorry to collect and transport unwanted building materials from construction sites to designated disposal or recycling facilities.
2. Load and unload materials using the grab arm, ensuring safe and efficient handling.
3. Inspect and maintain the vehicle and grab equipment, performing routine checks and reporting any issues.
4. Follow scheduled routes and delivery times to ensure timely pickups and drop-offs.
5. Adhere to health and safety regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
6. Communicate with site managers to confirm pickup details and address any issues.
7. Complete necessary paperwork and logs, including delivery records and vehicle maintenance reports.

Requirements:
1. Valid Class 2 driving license with a clean driving record.
2. Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC): Required for professional drivers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge.
3. Experience operating grab lorries and handling construction materials.
4. Good understanding of health and safety regulations related to construction and waste disposal.
5. Physical fitness to handle heavy lifting and operate machinery.
6. Strong communication skills to interact with site managers and colleagues.
7. Attention to detail to ensure accurate record-keeping and safe operation of equipment.

Salary & Benefits
• £13.00 to £16.00 per hour, depending on experience

Working Hours
Monday to Friday – 7am to 4.30pm with the occasional Saturday.
