We are seeking a Business Development Manager to focus on Export Sales within the specialised sectors of Reefer, Remote & Relief. The role involves collaborating with both Commercial and Operations departments to deliver agreed sales targets by developing new and existing client relationships.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Drive business growth in line with the company’s 5-year Business Plan.
  • Sell specialised services including refrigerated cargo, remote locations, and humanitarian relief on an export basis from the UK
  • Engage in outside sales with a national presence, spending 2-3 days per week on the road.
  • Conduct quality sales calls and maintain a targeted number of client visits per month.
  • Manage export tenders for direct shippers and NGOs.
  • Represent the company at trade fairs and expos relevant to the export market.
  • Maintain customer opportunity management within the CRM system to develop the Sales Pipeline.
  • Issue quotations and manage customer rate sheets for key VIP clients.
  • Assist in the production of annual budgets and develop an annual Sales Plan with the Commercial Director.
  • Provide key account management on a commercial basis for designated clients.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in operations, account management, or inside sales with a desire to progress in business development.
  • Strong understanding of the export market and specialised sectors such as Reefer, Remote & Relief.
  • Ability to travel nationally and occasionally overseas.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a professional and friendly attitude.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems and proficiency in managing sales pipelines.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information securely and responsibly.
  • A proactive and cost-conscious approach to all areas of responsibility.
