  • Contract Type: Temp to Perm
  • Temp Role Hours: Monday to Friday, 5:45 AM - 2:15 PM (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch)
  • Permanent Role Hours: Shift pattern - 2 days (6 AM - 6 PM), 2 nights (6 PM - 6 AM), followed by 6 days off. Enjoy two 18-day breaks per year!
  • Hourly Rate: 16.78

Key Responsibilities

  1. Fermentation Operations
    • Start, stop, monitor, and control fermentation and culture train processes.
    • Perform seeding, separations, molasses control, and sterilisation tasks.
    • Record and analyse fermentation data, adjust plans as needed, and communicate changes.
    • Coordinate bulk chemical deliveries and ensure compliance with standards.
  2. Cream Loading
    • Clean, load, and monitor road tankers with yeast cream, ensuring adherence to loading plans.
    • Conduct sampling, system checks, and maintain accurate records.
    • Perform tanker CIP (Cleaning in Place), blending hookups, and equipment maintenance.
  3. General Plant Operations
    • Monitor utilities (e.g., blowers, chillers, boilers, and water systems) and perform routine checks.
    • Prepare culture vessels, handle bulk materials, and manage chemical deliveries.
    • Conduct pre-fermentation inspections, sampling, and other process tests (e.g., pH, conductivity).
    • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas, including routine CIP tasks.
  4. Administrative & Technical Support
    • Complete required paperwork, data entry, and CCP (Critical Control Point) checks.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues, report maintenance needs, and respond to incidents.
    • Assist with communication between functions and ensure smooth handovers between shifts.

Your Skills & Experience:

  • 2+ years in the Food & Beverage or Food Services industry
  • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and processes
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a keen understanding of safety, quality, and environmental standards
  • Basic maths skills and comfortable with data analysis
  • Computer literate, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
