Ocean Freight Forwarder

Time Appointments are currently recruiting an Ocean Freight Forwarder on behalf of a Felixstowe based client who will be responsible for coordinating and managing the movement of freight from origin to destination and negotiating rates and terms with carriers and suppliers

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Negotiating rates and terms with carriers and suppliers
• Collaborating with the sales team to support lead generation efforts
• Managing and quoting Global network enquires to conversion
• Maintaining accurate records of shipments
• Liaising with clients to provide updates on shipment status and resolve any issues
• Ensuring collection & delivery KPIs attained
• Generating reports relating to all export and customs activity
• Meeting customer expectations to ensure excellent customer service
• Identifying opportunities to upsell additional services to existing clients

Skills & Experience Required:

• Minimum 2 years industry experience
• Import Destination Experience
• Knowledge of B/L restrictions and requirements
• Export knowledge beneficial but not essential
• Container delivery experience
• Knowledge of carrier systems
• Experience of Destin8
• Can do attitude with excellent attention to detail
• MS Office skills
• Excellent teamwork & communication skills
