Teacher (1:1)
4myschools are working with an Alternative Provision based in Felixstowe, to recruit a full-time teacher to provide individual lessons and learning activities to a child working outside of mainstream education.
The setting has it's base in Felixstowe and teaches children in KS2, KS3 and KS4. All teaching is done on a 1:1 basis.
You will have a student assigned to you in your specialist key stage, for whom you will plan and deliver lessons that are accessible and based on the individual needs. Teaching hours are Monday-Thursday (9-3) and Friday (9-1) (Please Note: these are the teaching hours. This is a role with full teaching responsibilities, so your actual working day will be longer).
This is to work full-time for the remainder of this academic year, but the role does have the opportunity of becoming a permanent position earlier than that! This role is open to qualified teachers who are looking for either; an interim role OR a permanent one (temp-to-perm basis).
The children who attend the setting have found mainstream school unsettling for a range of reasons. In this setting you have the potential to be working with:
- ADHD
- ASD
- Learning Delay
- Behaviours that Challenge
- Trauma
- Sensory Processing Disorder
- Dis-engagement
Requirements:
- Teaching qualification
- QTS (ideally)
- An Enhanced, Child Workforce DBS
- Availability Mon-Fri (with early finish on a Friday as teaching finishes at 1pm!)
- Previous experience of working with children with the above stated needs and characteristics
- A patient and empathetic manner
- The ability to adapt to the individual needs of the children
- Skills in working individually and working as part of a wider team
