A leading global business based in Felixstowe is seeking a hands-on Network & Security Manager to join their team. Known for innovation and operational excellence, they are committed to ensuring the integrity, reliability, and security of their network and cloud infrastructure to support seamless global operations. This standalone role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced Network & Security Manager to make a significant impact without any direct management responsibilities.

Role Overview:

The Network & Security Manager will take charge of the organisations network and security functions, maintaining and securing infrastructure, while also getting involved in 3rd line infrastructure operations with a focus on virtualisation and cloud technologies. This is a hands-on role requiring a proactive, technically adept professional who can work independently while interfacing with both global IT teams and external partners to ensure top-tier network performance and security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Management: Plan, implement, and maintain network infrastructure to support a high-performing, globally distributed network environment.
  • Security Leadership: Develop and enforce security policies and strategies to safeguard the organisations network and cloud assets from potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Infrastructure Oversight: Support 3rd line infrastructure, including virtualisation platforms and cloud services, ensuring robust, reliable, and scalable solutions.
  • Risk & Compliance: Conduct risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and implement countermeasures to comply with global security standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Incident Response: Lead incident management efforts for network and security events, minimising disruption and resolving issues swiftly.
  • Technology Enhancement: Continuously assess new technologies and tools in networking, cybersecurity, and virtualisation to drive improvements and optimise the infrastructure.
  • Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with cross-functional IT teams and third-party vendors to ensure consistency in global security protocols.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in network, security, and 3rd line infrastructure, preferably within a global or enterprise setting.
  • Technical expertise in network protocols, firewall configurations, VPNs, and cloud-based security tools.
  • Strong proficiency in virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
  • Solid knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
  • Certifications such as CCNP, CISSP, or CISM are advantageous.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a proactive approach to network and security challenges.
