We are offering an exciting opportunity for an individual to advance their career in Information Technology in an 18-month fixed-term contract with our client locally to Ipswich, offering training and development through an IT Solutions Technician apprenticeship. The successful candidate will be enrolled in a Level 3 IT Solutions Technician apprenticeship with a local training institute. Following successful completion of the course, there is the likelihood that this will go permanent.
Day-to-day of the role:- Work within a multi-disciplinary team across a complete solutions lifecycle including requirements gathering, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance.
- Support users to ensure the IT solutions continue to function as expected and meet business needs.
- Gain in-depth knowledge of the existing infrastructure to effectively troubleshoot and identify root causes of issues.
- Engage in various tasks ranging from technical to analytical, focusing on understanding stakeholder and business needs.
- Ensure timely resolution of service and delivery issues in line with agreed SLAs.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures and install, configure, and maintain hardware and software components.
- Conduct various forms of testing such as unit, integration, user acceptance, and performance testing.
- Comply with information security policies and procedures to protect organizational and customer data.
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in IT with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Basic understanding of Intel-based PC hardware.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office technologies and operating systems.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to think both logically and creatively.
- Professional and independent work ethic, taking initiative where appropriate.
- Effective communication skills in both written and spoken English.
- Ability to create and maintain documentation according to best practices and organizational guidelines.
- A minimum of 3 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including one core subject. A-Levels and IT-related certifications are desirable but not essential.
