We are delighted to be working on behalf of one of the longest-established law firms in East Anglia, who are currently recruiting for an experienced Legal Secretary within their friendly Wills & Probate team.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven Legal Secretarial experience gained from a professional law firm, with a good understanding of Wills & Probate
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent computer skills, particularly using Microsoft Office, document management and legal document production software
- Organised with a flexible approach to work
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities
- Audio typing skills (desirable)
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Providing effective and efficient secretarial support to the Wills & Probate team
- Keeping Records up to date and general filing (both paper & electronic documents).
- Archiving Files.
- Typing up Legal Documents, including transcribing audio dictation, correspondence, emails, and all other like documents.
- Answering the phone and making a documented record.
- Organising diaries and making appointments for fee earner(s).
- Receiving "On Account" payments from Clients and referring these to accounts department.
- Informing accounts department of any Client changes.
- Generally finalising matters and obtain edger printouts before closing file.
- Covering reception as and when required.
