Role Summary

Following business growth and commercial development, Challenge Logistics looks to implement a Transport Manager to support the busy day to day operations of our container fleet which is comprised of circa 30 trucks.

Applicants should be passionate, enthusiastic, and hardworking and have the ability to motivate and manage teams to achieve overall goals, as well as managing internal stakeholder relationships as part of a 'one team' approach.

This role will report direct to the Operations Director and comes with excellent fast track growth opportunities for the right candidate.

Duties & Responsibilities

The role will include, but not be limited to overseeing day to day activities of the transport operation at Felixstowe, and where possible, introduce further opportunities for the right candidate across the wider Challenge Logistics network.

Ensuring that operational compliance is met at all times and providing updates accordingly to the wider business.

Planning experience is essential along with the ability to work effectively with the planning optimal cost-effective planning at all times.

You will be responsible for the growth and development of all staff including future recruits.

Produce, understand, investigate and progress commercial reports and outcomes.

You must have a robust understanding of both Fleet and Driver compliance with the ability to lead process ensuring fulfilment in all areas.

As Transport Manager will be named as Transport Manager on the companies relevant Operators Licence.

Excellent client management skills required with the ability to develop robust and trustworthy key stakeholder relations.

You will support the Operations Director in achieving the long-term strategic goals whilst continually identifying and implementing positive operational changes in line with agreed KPI's.

Experience

Must have a proven management background in a successful transport operation with a large fleet.

Must be CPC qualified.

Extensive knowledge of Operator Licence regulations.

Experience of Compliance Auditing Processes.

Excellent planning, organisation, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent commercial and budget awareness skills.

Strong administrative skills.
