Role Purpose:

As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Felixstowe 750,000 sq ft ambient and freezer warehousing Mega Distribution Centre. Your responsibilities will include organising the maintenance team, planning preventative and reactive maintenance, and ensuring site compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the maintenance team, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to company standards.
  • Plan, schedule, and execute preventative and reactive maintenance tasks to minimise downtime and optimise equipment performance.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including Legionella, Dsear, Loler, Puwer, and COSHH.
  • Supervise external contractors, ensuring they adhere to Uniserve's health and safety policies.
  • Update and maintain risk assessments and standard operating procedures.
  • Assess individual training needs and implement development plans for team members.
  • Drive KPI targets through continuous improvement and cost-effective management of parts and suppliers.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance.
  • IOSH Managing Safety (desirable).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of health and safety rules and legislation.
  • Knowledge of reactive and preventative maintenance.
  • Computer proficiency in Windows, Excel, and cloud-based maintenance software.
  • Ability to supervise and manage teams effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
