Hales Group are urgently seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative for our client based in Felixstowe. The role will be to control and remove vegetation growth, and cleanse areas managed by our client on a daily basis, which will include litter clearance, furniture removal and collection, other collection and transportation of materials within the site, and scheduled waste collection, along with other associated duties required in the day to day operation of the site. The role of Grounds Maintenance Operative will include;
  • Handling, mixing, preparation and control of chemicals used to hinder and/or remove unwanted vegetation.
  • Operate mechanical equipment and hand tools to clear vegetation.
  • Following appropriate procedures for the health and safety of employees, and members of the public. (IOSH, COSHH etc.)
  • Reporting accidents and incidents as required – RIDDOR knowledge.
  • Maintaining records as required – diairised scheduling for spraying.
  • Any other related duties as required in assisting with the provision of the service.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in a safe and proper manner, in accordance with our Client's Specification, the WN BS EN ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • To undertake tasks and duties in a manner that supports our clients ethos for working and operating.
   To be considered for the role of Grounds Maintenance Operative you will need;
  • PA1/PA6 Pesticide use and control qualification.
  • Full Clean UK Driver’s license with own transport.
  • Knowledge of H&S Risk and COSHH Assessments.
  • Previous grounds maintenance/ horticultural experience.
  • Previous experience using powered hand tools such as hedge cutters, strimmers and mowers.
  • Effective communicator with staff, customers, partners, contractors, agency/external organisations and other colleagues.
HOURS: 7.30am-4pm Monday to Friday PAY: £14.00 per hour LOCATION: Felixstowe DURATION: Temporary initially for 3 months Why work for Hales Group?
