Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning the most efficient transport routes for containers, considering factors like cost, time, and capacity.
  • Coordinating with shipping lines, carriers, and freight forwarders to ensure that containers are delivered on time.
  • Scheduling pick-up and delivery times for containers.
  • Monitoring the availability and allocation of containers, ensuring sufficient stock for planned shipments.
  • Acting as a liaison between customers, drivers, port operators, and other logistics teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Ensuring containers are properly labelled, and shipping details are accurate to avoid delays or legal issues.
  • Addressing and resolving any transportation-related issues that may arise, such as delays, accidents, or route changes.
  • Monitoring transportation costs, negotiating rates with carriers and seeking opportunities for cost savings.

Skills & Experience required:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a Transport Planner
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Driven professional
  • Full UK driving licence
