SEN Learning Support Assistant Felixstowe

Job Type: Full-Time or part-time ??
Daily Rate: £75-£90 per day

We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a Specialist Education Unit (SEU) in Felixstowe, supporting up to 17 children with profound and complex needs. This rewarding role involves providing personal care and support for students with Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN).

As part of a caring and committed team, you will play a vital role in assisting students with their daily routines, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being while helping them engage in tailored learning activities. Experience in providing personal care and working with children with severe needs is highly desirable.

Responsibilities for SEN LSA Felixstowe:
  • Provide one-on-one or group support to students with special educational needs within the classroom setting.
  • Help students with their individual academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Collaborate with the classroom teacher and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students with personal care needs, where necessary, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Monitor and record student progress, maintaining accurate records.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably in an academic or similar care setting.
  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach, with the ability to establish rapport with students and gain their trust.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • A positive attitude, flexibility, and resilience in handling challenging situations.
  • Relevant qualifications/certificates (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools, Autism Awareness, Makaton, etc.) are desirable but not essential.
