4myschools are working on behalf of a Primary School based in Felixstowe, to recruit a full-time teacher to work in their SEU (Special Educational Needs). This is to work full-time for the remainder of this acadmeic year.

This is a LA (Local Authority) SEU that is situated within this large Primary School. They have dedicated indoor and outdoor space and resources to meet the individual needs of the 17 children that attend.

You would be working in the KS2 classroom, which caters for children with complex needs.

The children in the class experience daily challenges, and you as the class teacher will lead your team to support them with:

  • SLCN
  • Sensory Processing
  • Personal Care
  • Learning Difficulties
  • De-Esculation

This is a teaching role with full-teaching responsibilities, so includes planning responsibilities and liaising with SENCO and other professionals.

Requirements:

  • Teaching qualification with QTS
  • An Enhanced, Child Workforce DBS
  • Availability Mon-Fri
  • Previous experience of working with children with SEND
  • A patient and empathetic manner
  • The ability to adapt to the individual needs of the children
  • Skills in leading and working as part of a team
