Our client are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Warehouse Operative to assist the Warehouse Team Leader in managing the daily operations of their warehouse. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that the warehouse runs efficiently and safely, in line with customer KPIs, service level agreements and health and safety standards. This role requires the ability to deputize in the absence of the Team Leader and to provide clear guidance and motivation to the warehouse team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Warehouse Team Leader in daily warehouse operations.
  • Deputize for the Team Leader during absences, ensuring continuity of service.
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety, ensuring adherence to company protocols.
  • Motivate and engage with warehouse operatives, stock control, and admin teams.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of orders for dispatch, and correct storage of materials to minimise losses.
  • Report unplanned absences and ensure punctuality, advising the Line Manager of any issues.
  • Safeguard company assets, including security passes, equipment, and uniforms.
  • Promote a proactive and positive approach within the team, maintaining healthy working relationships.
  • Travel as needed to other locations for specified tasks or meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as required by management.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 GCSEs grade A-C or equivalent.
  • Counterbalance Licence (RTITB/ITSAR).

Desirable Qualifications:

  • ILM Level 3.
  • Intermediate Excel skills.
  • Pivot Steer Licence (RTITB/ITSTAR).

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proven competence in dealing with customers, including handling difficult situations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and telephone manner.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (e.g., JDA).

Personal Qualities:

  • Reliable, dependable, and self-motivated.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • Flexible and willing to take on additional tasks.
  • Ability to motivate and encourage others, maintaining professionalism at all times.

This role is Monday to Friday 6am-3pm.
