Job Type: Full-time, Permanent (40 hours per week)



Role Overview

The Workforce Management Team Lead plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient allocation of staffing resources to meet operational demands in a high-paced, luxury catering environment. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership abilities to optimise workforce planning, maintain seamless operations, and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.



Key Responsibilities



1. Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Workforce Management Coordinators.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Provide training and guidance to enhance workforce planning processes.


2. Workforce Planning & Scheduling

  • Oversee staff scheduling to ensure optimal coverage while maintaining operational flexibility.
  • Adjust workforce allocations in response to fluctuating business demands.
  • Ensure fair and efficient shift allocation, considering employee availability and legal regulations.


3. Timekeeping & Compliance

  • Monitor and manage timekeeping records, ensuring accuracy for payroll and operational planning.
  • Ensure compliance with UK labour laws, working time regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain and enforce workforce management best practices.


4. Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with department heads, HR, and operations teams to anticipate staffing needs.
  • Act as the main point of contact for workforce-related inquiries and concerns.
  • Provide proactive staffing solutions to support business operations.


5. Agency & Vendor Management

  • Manage relationships with external staffing agencies, ensuring alignment with workforce planning needs.
  • Ensure agency workers meet quality standards and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor agency contracts and cost-effectiveness.


6. Reporting & Analysis

  • Generate regular reports on workforce performance, staffing trends, and key KPIs.
  • Use data-driven insights to recommend improvements in workforce planning.
  • Present findings to senior management and contribute to strategic decision-making.


7. Technology & Systems Management

  • Utilise workforce planning tools and software to optimise staffing processes.
  • Implement automation and digital solutions for improved efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and system updates.


Skills & Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Admin and secretarial or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 year's experience in workforce management, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in workforce planning tools (Excel, Microsoft Access, or similar).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams.
  • Knowledge of UK labour laws and workforce compliance regulations.
  • Experience in the airline catering, hospitality, or related industry is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
