RightNow Group are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager for a large cargo, ground handler based in Heathrow. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing cargo handling across all companies' sites managing a team of managers.
Job Title: Cargo Operations ManagerSalary: £45,000 to £48,000

Key Duties:
- Lead and manage daily cargo operations, ensuring efficient workflows and adherence to company standards and procedures.
- Ensure all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are up-to-date and consistently met.
- Communicate daily with Managers and the Cargo General Manager to address operational priorities, challenges, and requirements.
- Coordinate and participate in disciplinary or grievance hearings as needed.
- Review, amend, and enforce operating standards to achieve the highest levels of service for customers.
- Manage customer complaints in a professional and timely manner, escalating issues to the Cargo General Manager where necessary.
- Attend external and internal operational meetings to ensure ongoing communication and collaboration.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies such as CAA, HMRC, APHA, and HSE, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Monitor and manage operational costs, identifying areas for improvement and potential savings, and maintain accurate financial records.
- Identify and arrange necessary training for the team, ensuring compliance with industry-mandated and CAA-required training.
- Ensure the team is well-versed in security protocols and pass CTC vetting for SSR designation.
- Participate in CAA inspections, providing necessary documentation and support to inspectors.
- Conduct regular internal quality assurance audits and ensure continuous improvement across operations.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment regulations, maintaining companies Safety Policy and Safety Management System.
- Conduct thorough investigations into incidents, accidents, injuries, near misses, and breaches, documenting all findings.
Key Skills
- In-depth knowledge of freight movement techniques and industry requirements.
- CM Security training and ability to pass enhanced security vetting (CTC).
- Dangerous goods certification (or willingness to complete the training).
- Attention to detail, numeracy, and literacy skills of a high standard.
- Proficient in understanding and implementing technical procedures.
- Holds a valid driving license to facilitate travel between sites.
- People-management skills are essential to lead, train, and manage teams effectively.
- Either have, or be willing to do a NEBOSH qualification
