Objective / Purpose of the Department

The Business Development department is the commercial driver of the Company. The purpose of the department is to attract new customers, retain and grow existing customers.This includes increasing the number of clients in all of the Company Freight Forwarding customer segmentsThe Commercial & Business Support department within the Business Development function is accountable for specific support activities to the Company commercial owners in Business Development, product, and branch managers.The Inside Sales Team is responsible for new business, servicing, retaining and growing the country鈥檚 national portfolio.

Objective / Purpose of the Job

The primary purpose of the job is to give a professional frontline service to new business through direct channels whilst working closely with the BD team. This will be delivered through telesales & CRM management compliance.The employee is also responsible for servicing, retaining and profitably growing an assigned segment of regional accounts through CRM system data management.The employee is required to expand the portfolio business by generating new customer accounts, and to increase the value of the assigned customer portfolio, measurable in Net Sales, Gross Margin, Gross Profit and transactional volumes.The employee will be expected to make a minimum of 20 calls a day (100 calls a week).Scope: Branch / NationalType of supported sales: Standard accounts, Key accounts and Strategic accountsType of allocated customers: new, existing and prospect

Business Development Strategy

路 Participation in the creation, development, and execution of the Business Development strategy within the Commercial & Business Support function.路 Model the company values in day to day interaction internally and externally路 Support both sales and branches in achieving their respective business objectives in the most efficient and effective way possible. 路 Making targeted tele sales introductions & appointments with customers, both new & existing.路 Profiling of the new customers based on size, vertical market and buying behaviour 路 Documenting required information and actions taken in Database路 Repeating telesales customer contact at regular intervals & in accordance with daily measured KPI鈥檚Qualification & Support of new accounts路 Qualification of new prospects by applying for the Global Sales Process路 Profiling of the new customers based on size, vertical market and buying behaviour 路 Documenting required information and actions taken in DatabaseAssisting sales with making appointments with customers where appropriate and log in Database.路 Support credit checks for new customers prior to submitting quotations, in line with GSP & credit management policy 路 Provide spot & standard quotes to the customer路 Handle customer commercial questions (technical, pricing, invoices, consulting)路 Handle ad-hoc complaints of customers路 Identify new business opportunitiesCSA Portfolio路 Deliver the defined service level (Product and Service Building Blocks)路 Plan specific activities to ensure realization of the Sales Goals路 Identify cross selling opportunities & communicate same to the corresponding Business Unit路 Identify & execute necessary frequency of contact per CSA路 Identify and capitalize on new opportunities路 Review and update customer tariffs as and when necessary to protect profitability路 Ensure CRM usage and compliance by recording all actions, discussions, next steps, agreements, quotes etc. in Database路 Provide complete and timely information regarding new business to concerned parties within the network路 Identify and act on external marketing opportunitiesComplete all available training modules relevant to your sales function, consult with superior.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Preferred Experience and Knowledge 路 Confidence to make telemarketing calls to new customers in accordance with policy & individual targets 路 Good communication skills 路 Customer Satisfaction mind setGood knowledge of air and ocean freight products & Processes (Import & Export)路 Fluent in local language(s) and good English skills
