Our Client, an award-winning AV Integration provider specialising in higher education is seeking a Delivery Driver & Warehouse Assistant to join its rapidly expanding and successful business. Established over 20 years ago, it has a stable workforce and prides itself on being customer focused and highly competitive within its sector. Reporting into the Warehouse Manager, you will contribute to the efficient operation of the warehouse and logistics department by performing a variety of tasks, including driving company vehicles, receiving and processing incoming shipments, picking, packing, and shipping orders, maintaining inventory, and ensuring a clean and organized warehouse environment as directed by theLogistics Manager or his Deputy.

Key Duties include:

Driver Duties:

  • Safely operate company vehicles to transport stock items to and from various customer sites.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and mileage.
  • Inspect vehicle before and after each trip, reporting any maintenance issues.
  • Assist with loading and unloading of vehicles.
  • Plan and optimize delivery routes to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to provide updates on delivery status.
  • Resolve any delivery issues or customer complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Complete necessary paperwork, such as delivery receipts and proof of delivery.

Warehouse Duties:

  • Correct picking of stock as detailed on Delivery notes for delivery to customer.
  • Ensure stocked picked is placed in the correct place in despatch area of warehouse.
  • Ensure that all Delivery Notes are scanned for "Special instructions" when picking, ie delivery promises etc, and take appropriate action.
  • Ensure that when picking the product on the delivery note is the same as the stock being picked.
  • Loading of vehicles for delivery to customers.
  • Unloading of suppliers vehicles.
  • Ensuring stock is stored neatly and in the correct areas.
  • Answering telephone calls and dealing with customer and supplier queries.
  • Completing labels etc for parcels.
  • Wrapping goods for delivery.
  • To ensure warehouse is always kept clean and tidy in order to promote a safe and professional working environment and promote the correct company image to visiting customers.

The successful applicant will have:

  • A Clean Driving Licence with a minimum of 2 years experience of driving.
  • Previous experience of working in a warehouse or logistics environment.
  • A working knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
