SLD Specialist Teaching Assistant - Feltham

We are working with a fantastic SEN Primary School located in Feltham dedicated to supporting diverse learning needs. We are committed to providing exceptional educational experiences for all students, particularly those with Special Learning Difficulties (SLD).

We are recruiting an outstanding SLD Specialist Teaching Assistant to work closely with students, teachers, and the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) in creating supportive, adaptive learning environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted one-to-one and small group interventions
  • Develop and implement personalised learning strategies
  • Create and maintain detailed student progress records
  • Support classroom teachers in differentiating curriculum materials
  • Assist students with complex learning needs in accessing curriculum
  • Help develop students' communication and social interaction skills
  • Provide emotional and practical support during learning activities
  • Manage and support behaviour using positive intervention techniques
Essential Requirements: Qualifications

  • Specific SEN qualification/training preferred
  • Current Enhanced DBS check
  • Safeguarding training
Skills and Experience:

Minimum 2 years working with SLD studentsDeep understanding of SEN Code of PracticeExpertise in visual communication strategiesKnowledge of alternative and augmentative communication systemsProficiency in creating and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)Experience using assistive technologiesStrong understanding of child development and learning difficultiesPersonal Qualities:
