Our client are a prestigious International Gallery who produces and exhibits functional sculptures by international rising and established artists and designers and is actively involved in the research and production of limited edition works. They have galleries in Paris, London, New York, and Los Angeles.
About the Role:
An exciting new opportunity is available for an Assistant Finance Manager to support its gallery operations in the US. The role will be responsible for overseeing financial transactions and reporting for the US business, including the New York and Los Angeles galleries. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with experience in finance reporting and managing US-specific accounting and tax requirements. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, adaptable, and possess a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the role duties are:
- Monthly reporting of sales from US galleries and intercompany sales with other group entities.
- Monthly cashflow reporting for the New York and Los Angeles galleries.
- Recording of stock purchases and movements across the US galleries and between other group companies.
- Full responsibility for the month-end close process and preparation of management accounts.
- Monthly P&L production with variance-to-budget analysis.
- Liaising with outsourced accounting support for bookkeeping and ensuring accurate financial records are maintained.
- Supporting payroll and benefits administration for US employees.
- Full responsibility for sales tax submissions and ensuring compliance with US federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including accruals and prepayments.
- Assisting with the annual audit and coordinating with external accountants.
- Providing financial support to other group companies as needed.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Degree in finance and accounting.
- US CPA or equivalent qualification
- At least five years of accounting experience.
- Experience with US tax regulations.
- Systems: Sage X3.
- Strong communication skills.
Desired and Advantageous Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of ERP systems.
Terms and Conditions: This is a full-time role (Monday - Friday) 9.30am - 6.00pm based near Heathrow (TW14) with occasional travel to Los Angeles. We offer a competitive salary based on experience, 20 days holiday plus BH and additional benefits such as private medical insurance. Hybrid working is available with a minimum of three days in the office.
