We are seeking a Finance Manager to oversee the smooth operation of our accounts department. This role is ideal for a self-motivated individual with comprehensive experience in finance management within the cargo, freight forwarding, or logistics sectors. The successful candidate will lead a team of up to 10 staff members and will be responsible for a wide range of financial activities.
Day-to-day of the role:- Oversee the smooth running of the accounts department and lead up to 10 staff.
- Manage accounts payable/receivable, sales ledger, billing, and credit control.
- Conduct bank and duty VAT reconciliations and handle VAT returns.
- Oversee credit checks and risk assessments on new clients, both in the UK and overseas.
- Liaise with senior management and external financial accountants as required.
- Oversee the processing of sales and purchase invoices.
- Handle any finance-related queries.
- Report to the senior management team on P&L, aged debtor reports, budgets, and payroll.
- Proven experience in all aspects of accounts and finance.
- Previous managerial experience in a finance role.
- Experience within the cargo, freight forwarding, or logistics industries.
- AAT trained or equivalent qualification.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Sage 50, ASM, and BoxTop.
- Self-motivated and self-driven with excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
