Job Overview

This role focuses on identifying and developing business opportunities from existing customers as well as engaging with new clients who have not yet utilized our services. The ideal candidate will:

  • Proactively promote the company’s ocean freight services to both new and existing customers, with the goal of increasing revenue year-over-year.
  • Prepare quotations, proposals, and RFQs (for Ocean FCL, LCL, projects, etc.) for customers and global offices, ensuring timely follow-ups via email and telephone.
  • Support marketing initiatives by gathering relevant industry news and updates related to ocean freight.
  • Manage shared inbox responsibilities within the Commercial Support Team.
  • Analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement and added value.
  • Develop a deep understanding of ocean freight services through engagement with carriers and co-loaders, strengthening professional relationships.
  • Participate in negotiations with partners to enhance efficiency and cost savings.
  • Maintain up-to-date pricing tools and quotation logs, ensuring accurate market rate tracking.
  • Assist with contract management, pricing updates, and commercial documentation.
  • Collaborate with sales and customer service teams, participating in client meetings when required.
  • Adapt to a dynamic environment where challenges require creative problem-solving and flexibility.
Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Head of Ocean Development and Ocean Development Manager to drive business growth and achieve strategic goals.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with core carriers while exploring opportunities with new providers.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Product Import – Create accurate and timely ocean freight quotations and proposals to effectively support customers.
  • Product Export – Produce well-structured and competitive export quotations and proposals to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Proactive Support – Follow up on quotations via phone, aiming to convert a significant portion into confirmed business.
  • Teamwork – Collaborate with Sales and Management teams, contribute to sales calls, provide reports, and support operational teams in securing optimal solutions.
  • Market Awareness – Gather industry insights and relevant information to support marketing and provide valuable updates to customers.
  • Administration – Maintain accurate records of pricing proposals and quotations, ensuring easy accessibility within internal databases.
Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate should possess the following:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build productive relationships with key carrier partners.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with various levels within the organization and customer base.
  • A confident and articulate speaker with the ability to present ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Strong technical skills, particularly in MS PowerPoint and Excel.
