Freightserve recruitment are looking for an Trainee Freight Forwarder for a Fast growing Freight Forwarder. The company is based in the Feltham, Middlesex area.

About the position:

Will learn all aspects of the business, with a long term goal to cover all areas of imports and exports (Air, Road, Seafreight and Courier).

Key Tasks and Responsibilities will include:

  • Be committed to excellent service quality.
  • Liaising with customers
  • Dealing with customers on a day to day basis.
  • Liaise with all new and regular customers on all queries and issues through regular contact by telephone
  • Take all incoming calls, and emails from customers
  • Ensure any special requirements or instructions are clearly specified
  • Completing all Import and Export documentation
  • Responding to customer booking and agents requests
  • Entering HM Customs entry procedures .
  • Developing effective relationships and negotiating with carriers and overseas agents
  • Post flight Filling
  • To fully understand and be conversant with the standard operating procedures

About you:

The ideal candidate will be educated in Maths and English (oral and written) to GCSE, Standard Grade or equivalent; grade A-C and be able to demonstrate highly competent computer skills in all areas of Microsoft office.

  • High level of accuracy with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively under own initiative.
  • Competent in commercial IT packages including Word, Excel, E-mail
  • Hard working, diligent with a flexible adaptable approach.
  • Good team player.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Hours are Monday - Friday 0800 - 1645
