Pastoral Assistant Position for a school local to Feltham – this is a one-year contract but you will be working on a weekly timesheet basis.

Hours: Term Time, 36 hours/week

  • Mon-Thurs: 8.15am – 4.30pm
  • Fri: 8.15am – 4.15pm
  • 38 weeks/year + 5 inset days

Main Purpose:

  • Ensure regular attendance of all pupils.
  • Provide basic care and welfare to primary age children.
  • Lead on all school medical procedures.
  • Offer clerical and administrative support.
  • Contribute to safeguarding and protection of pupils.

Attendance:

  • Ensure compliance with Children Missing Education processes.
  • Communicate attendance importance to parents/carers.
  • Main contact for attendance issues, follow up on absences.
  • Monitor and collate class registers.
  • Develop relationships with parents of regularly absent children.
  • Review attendance with Assistant Headteacher.
  • Administer attendance rewards and incentives.
  • Work with agencies on legal actions for attendance issues.

Care and Welfare:

Medical:

  • Store and administer prescribed medicines.
  • Obtain consent for medication administration.
  • Prepare and update Health Care Plans.
  • Report unusual marks or bruising.
  • Organize medical inspections.
  • Liaise with School Nurse.
  • Provide targeted pastoral support.
  • Organize medical training INSETs.

Administrative Duties:

  • Monitor safeguarding procedures.
  • Provide routine clerical support.
  • Assist with special events.
  • Cover school Reception.
  • Comply with child protection, health, safety, and data protection policies.
  • Supervise pupils out of lesson time.
  • Attend meetings and training.
  • Undertake other duties as required.
