SEND Teaching Assistant

We are currently recruiting for a lovely SEND school in the Feltham area who are looking for someone to join their amazing team for the start of the new academic year. In this role as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be required to support children with special needs on various levels of the autistic spectrum. This role as an SEND Teaching Assistant will be for an immediate start with the role being long term.

Key skills the ideal candidate will have:

  • You must be comfortable working 1:1 within an SEN role or with children in small groups
  • Support Secondary aged SEND children with all aspects of their development
  • Deal with challenging behaviour ensuring children are calm throughout the day
  • Handle complex and sensitive issues with empathy and understanding
  • Be aware of safeguarding procedures to keep children safe at all times

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people or SEND in any capacity
  • Either live in Feltham or within a commutable distance
  • You must also have an Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to process a new one
  • Have experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, though not essential
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, verbal and written
