We are seeking a dedicated English Teacher to join our team at HMPYOI Feltham. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of young offenders by delivering accredited learning and supporting their educational progress.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons across Entry Level to Level 3, including Functional Skills, GCSE, AS, and A-Level.
  • Develop a curriculum based on national and local needs that engages and challenges students.
  • Provide feedback and tutorial support to students to aid their academic and personal development.
  • Maintain accurate course and student records.
  • Adhere to prison procedures for health, safety, and behaviour management, ensuring a safe learning environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Teaching or training qualification (e.g., QTS, QTLS, DTTLS, PGCE).
  • Degree in relevant subject
  • Proven ability to teach English across various levels
  • Experience in delivering education within a structured environment.
  • Strong understanding of the educational needs and challenges faced by young offenders.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable groups.
  • Possession of a Clear and Enhanced DBS Certificate, or willingness to obtain one.
