Ocean Export Clerk

Right Now Group are working with a leading freight forwarder operating in the perishable goods market, based at London Heathrow Airport.

Our client requires an experienced Ocean Export Clerk to join the existing team as an expert in their field. The role requires a meticulous attention to detail, a deep understanding of ocean freight movements and strong coordination skills.

Duties and Responsibilities of an Ocean Export Clerk:

• Prepare, review, and monitor all export documentation to ensure compliance with international shipping rules and regulations, including bills of lading, packing lists, certificates of origin and invoices.
• Closely liaise with external customers, shipping lines, and internal departments to arrange bookings and manage the end-to-end processes for export operations. Ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions that meet customer shipping needs.
• Act as the primary point of contact for your customers throughout the shipping process. Providing regular updates on status of shipments, addressing any inquiries swiftly, and resolve issues promptly, always maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate and closely liaise with the compliance teams to ensure all shipments meet customs regulations. Expertly complete customs documentation, managing clearances, and remaining updated on changes in international trade laws.
• Monitoring and tracking of all shipments in real-time. Providing customers with regular updates on the status of international shipments, ensuring transparency and prompt communication of any delays or issues.
• Play a part in the continuous evaluation and improvement of existing processes, enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring the highest standards for your customers.

The successful Ocean Export Clerk:

• Strong experience within ocean export operations and knowledge of export procedures for perishable goods and regulations is an advantage.
• Knowledge of customs regulations, export documentation, and international shipping procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
• Proficient in computer software and applications.
• Problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure.

Benefits of an Ocean Export Clerk:

Package: Up to £35,000 p/a salary + Overtime + Pension + Holiday Hours: Monday - Friday (9:00am - 5:30pm)
