The opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for aCredit Controllerto join our Finance team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the stability of the groups cash flow by securing the prompt settlement of sales invoices, collecting debts, and maintaining accurate accounting records. You will collaborate closely with the Finance Manager and the wider finance team, while also taking responsibility for maintaining positive client relationships while ensuring all financial administrative tasks (including but not limited to credit management and debt collection, and bank reconciliations) are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

Key Credit Controller Responsibilities:

  • Credit control, including liaising with customers and chasing outstanding debts.
  • Dealing with customer queries and resolution of disputes.
  • Building a good rapport with clients and colleagues from the wider business.
  • Administration and reconciliation of the sales and purchase ledgers using Xero, including posting purchase invoices.
  • Monitoring invoice imports, checking and resolving issues.
  • Creating credit notes where appropriate.
  • Administration and collection of direct debits via Go Cardless, and credit card collections, including reconciliation of these accounts in Xero.
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed customer records and creating new customer accounts when required.
  • Daily reconciliation of bank accounts in Xero.
  • Supporting the preparation of management accounts and month-end duties.
  • Other ad hoc finance duties as required.

Credit Controller requirements:

  • Previous experience of working within a credit control role.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines and to exercise initiative and proactivity.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention-to-detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of Xero (desired)
  • Good MS Excel experience.
