Job Description

We’re looking for a proactive Manufacturing Engineer to play a key role in optimising our production processes and delivering high-quality products that meet customer expectations. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of process improvement, cost efficiency, and technical innovation, ensuring our operations remain cutting-edge and competitive.

Duties

  • Creating project plans and coordinating New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
  • Conducting detailed reviews of customer requirements for NPI projects.
  • Implementing and optimizing new manufacturing processes.
  • Evaluating and improving current processes to meet quality standards.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving production issues and delays.
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining quality standards.
  • Collaborating with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.

Required knowledge, skills or experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Previous experience of 5 years+ as a manufacturing or project engineer (or in a similar role).
  • In-depth knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, and tool design.
  • Experience in working in welding, or with welding-based projects
  • Familiarity with APQP/PPAP processes and manufacturing equipment.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD/CAM software (Autodesk Inventor or similar) and MS Office tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Resilience, integrity, and teamwork skills to drive positive change.
  • A commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.

Additional Information

Location: Chilton, Ferryhill

Hours of work:

  • Monday to Thursday 8.00 - 5.00
  • Friday 8.00 - 12.30

Rates of pay:

  • Salary range £35,000 - £40,000
